After playing numerous festivals and embarking on a small European tour earlier this year, experimental rockers Animal Collective returned to their hometown of Baltimore to start work on their next album. Playing a handful of dates to try out some new material, they're gracing the stage at Merriweather Post Pavilion (also the name of the band's breakthrough 2009 record). Blow Up the Outside World
As one of the defining rock (dare we utter... grunge?) bands of the 1990s, Soundgarden thrilled fans by reuniting for a few shows last year. This year they put out their first live album, Live on the I-5, with plans to release a brand new record next spring. After almost fifteen years off the road, Soundgarden is back with a full tour, making their way to Patriot Center next week. With an opening set from prog rock front-runners The Mars Volta, this show will deliver some mind-blowing rock n' roll to the eager masses.

Masterful Meditations
Before recording any of her music, Deva Premal was touring worldwide with fellow artist Miten, performing shows and leading chant workshops. Off into the Sunset
Having established themselves in the ska/punk scene of the late-to-mid 1990s, RX Bandits shifted their sound to include progressive styles on their later albums. After fifteen years, the California band is saying farewell and touring the U.S. for the last time. Making a stop at the 9:30 Club this Saturday with Maps and Atlases and Zechs Marquise, RX Bandits will go out with a bang and say goodbye in style.
