In Show and Concert!
What needs to be said about Bob Dylan? Arguably the greatest songwriter who ever lived, Dylan is still on the road, continuing to play dates on his "Never Ending Tour". His stop at Merriweather Post Pavilion this August comes with a bonus: legendary songwriter and session wizard Leon Russell will open the show. That's two of rock's most acclaimed musicians on the Merriweather stage in one night. Don't you dare miss it!

Phantom Power
Grupo Fantasma came together when two Austin-based bands, The Blue Noise Band and The Blimp, merged. Since then, they've put quite a spin on vibrant Latin funk, so much so that The Purple One himself, Prince, took a liking to them. They've even been his backing band on several occasions, so you know they gotta be good. Their show this Thursday at 9:30 Club will be great, but it's even better with D.C.-based Chopteeth Afrofunk Big Band and Funk Ark opening. They say that Thursday is the new Friday, so get your rolling crew together and come get down to a real party. GRUPO FANTASMA

Freak Scene On the heels of re-releasing the 1988 album Bug on cassette this week, seminal alt-rock band Dinosaur Jr. are playing a handful of east coast dates and performing the record in its entirety. If that isn't enough, punk icon Henry Rollins is also traveling with the band and interviewing them live at every stop. Also, winners of the In the Hands of the Fans contest will be filming and interviewing the band for a live DVD set to come out later this year. Add in an opening set from newly formed hardcore supergroup Off!, and this is one event no self-respecting music fan can miss. DINOSAUR JR.Performing "Bug" in its entirety
