Are You In?
After taking some time to put out their first retrospective album, Incubus returned this year with a brand new effort, If Not Now, When?. The band's first new record in five years offers up a different approach, trading in their hard rock sound for subtle tones and emotive themes. See Incubus take their next step (while still reveling in all their past hits) at Merriweather Post Pavilion this September. INCUBUS

Forging Ahead
As one of the defining voices in folk music over the last few decades, feminist icon Ani DiFranco has been an inspiration for independent artists nationwide for her advocacy of D.I.Y. culture. Keeping herself busy, DiFranco continues to work with new artists on her indie label and most recently contributed to The Twilight Singers' latest album. In a welcome return to the stage, Ani DiFranco is making a two-night stay at Sixth & I Historic Synagogue, and we're giving you first dibs on some righteous tickets.

Back Again Influential indie band The Feelies reunited a few years ago after a fifteen-year absence. Amidst much critical acclaim, this year saw the release of Here Before, the band's first new album since 1991's Time For A Witness. Playing a handful of east coast dates, The Feelies are making a triumphant return, not only to the 9:30 Club stage, but back to the indie-rock scene they helped create.

Bow Down Black Country Communion is comprised of vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple/Black Sabbath), blues guitar master Joe Bonamassa, keyboard wizard Derek Sherinian, and drummer Jason Bonham (son of legendary Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham). While we could go on all day about the impressive list of acts these guys have individually played with, when the four come together in Black Country Communion, sparks fly. Complete with over-the-top wailing, virtuosic guitar and keyboard runs, and a thunderous rhythm section, the band are upping the ante for all hard rock/heavy metal bands. Spend your night in the presence of four musical masters at 9:30 Club this Sunday.
