The Kings are Here
After the highly conceptual and prog-rock inspired album, Hazards of Love, indie-folk outfit The Decemberists made a return to Americana sounds with their sixth album, The King Is Dead. Boasting contributions from Peter Buck and Gillian Welch, the country-tinged record is among the most upbeat and accessible of the band's career. Opening for the band on tour is garage-pop group Best Coast, whose shows have gained a reputation for being over-the-top with energy. Don't miss The Decemberists when they bring their larger-than-life performance back to Merriweather Post Pavilion's stage this Monday.
