Dear Volunteers, Fosters and Friends,

Thank you for your interest in City Dogs Rescue as well as your patience as we work hard to build the infrastructure of the organization (e.g., contact lists, forms, accounts).   We have had a very successful few weeks having placed three dogs from high-kill shelters in wonderful homes in DC and Maryland!

As we get up to speed, we are looking for volunteers for the following positions:

1.  Social Media Coordinators:  Individuals who can assist in building support over the Internet via Facebook and other social media.  Social Media Coordinators will help us highlight our new foster dogs, adoptions, events, fundraising campaigns, updates, etc., by sharing such information with their friends and family and encouraging them to forward the information on to their contacts.   Social Media Coordinators will also help us grow our Facebook fans and website traffic.   If interested, please email Darren at info@citydogsrescuedc.org.

2.  Adoption Coordinators:  Adoption Coordinators will play an integral role in overseeing the adoption processes for one dog at a time - - including interacting with potential adopters, conducting home visits, screening applications, and answering questions of prospective adopters.  If interested, please email Gina at adopt@citydogsrescuedc.org.

3.  Event Coordinators:  Events Coordinators will help plan and manage community events (e.g., dog adoption events, volunteer happy hours).  Event Coordinators will need to be detailed-oriented, social, and enjoy bringing people together.   If interested, please email Dave at Dave@citydogsrescuedc.org.

4.  Fundraising Coordinators:  Fundraising Coordinators will help plan fundraising events and campaigns, seek local community sponsors, and encourage contacts to donate and take part in events.  If interested, please email Darren at fundraising@citydogsrescuedc.org.

5.  Dog Handlers:  Dog Handlers will handle dogs at adoption events, take photographs of them, and take them for walks in the community to observe behavior and provide exposure to meet potential adopters.  Dog Handlers should have experience handling large dogs and should be at least 18 years old.  If interested, please email Dave at  Dave@citydogsrescuedc.org.

6.  Fosters:  We are also looking for potential foster homes for our pups. Please email Gina at foster@citydogsrescuedc.org if interested.

What Are Some Things I Can Do Right Now to Help City Dogs Rescue Grow and Gain Support?

1.   "Like Us" on Facebook:  Encourage your friends and family to "like us" on Facebook.

2.  Visit Our Website:  Visit our website at www.citydogsrescuedc.org and encourage friends and family to do the same.
3.  Donate:  Donate during our start-up campaign via our website, our Facebook page, or below, and encourage friends and family to do the same.  We are at approximately 25% of our goal to raise $5,000 and really need to make it to the finishing line.  If you or your friends and family are able to, please donate.

4.   Our Contact Lists:  Encourage your friends and family to join one of our contact lists, and make sure that you are on the lists that interest you most, by clicking on the box below.
