BlastFlorence

Welcome to the Machine

Formed in 2008, Florence + The Machine, helmed by Florence Welch, have exploded in popularity over the past few years.  Genre-blending smash singles like "Kiss with a Fist" and "Dog Days are Over" combined with huge performances at the likes of the MTV Video Music Awards and SNL catapulted this English soul/art-rocker and her revolving-member band to superstardom.  On tour in support of her second album, Ceremonials, Florence + The Machine will bring their vibrant show to Merriweather this July.  Add in an opening set from fellow huge wave-maker The Weeknd and indie rockers The Maccabees, and you've got a lineup that'll propel you to fantastic musical heights.

BlastM3

Hair for Days, Dude

The time has come for M3 to righteously rock Merriweather again.  Ask anyone with a) long hair, b) a black t-shirt and jeans, c) a GTO or Firebird or d) a general demeanor that says, "I Party", and chances are, they've rocked out at M3.  With heaps of bitchin' bands over two stages, no overlapping sets, and tons of metal 'tude, M3 is clearly the haven for all things hair. Let's face it; brain cells are overrated.  It's OK to lose a few while headbanging in heavy metal bliss.

BlastMetalLords

Lords of No Mercy

As if M3 didn't have enough metal mania, this Sunday hath been proclaimed The Metal Lords' Day.  Rob Zombie and Megadeth will bring their caravans of pain through Merriweather Post Pavilion, showering the hordes with primo high-volume hits.  There's even an opening set from demi-gods Lacuna Coil and a Festival Stage with some terrorizing tribute bands.  What's even better?  You can use your M3 ticket order number to get a devilish discount on tickets (click the "M3 Buyers Offer" button on the purchase page).  By the end of the day, you'll be packed so full of heaviness that you'll be forced to submit to your new Lords, and you'll gladly do it.

BlastLanegan

The Real Voice

As frontman of Screaming Trees and his solo band, and having worked with the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Gutter Twins (with Afghan Whigs' Greg Dulli), and Isobel Campbell, Mark Lanegan clearly has highly sought-after vocals.  Never one to paint himself into a corner, his new album, Blues Funeral, features a bit of electronic music mixed in with his moody blues rock.  His smooth and brooding baritone will fill 9:30 Club this Friday, making for a darkly romantic escape.

Making a stop at 9:30 Club this Friday, they're joined by songwriter Gabriel Kelley, whose uber-personal take on American roots music will make for a captivating support set.
