From Sandy to Brandi
Now that we've had some time to recover from Hurricane Sandy, we can get back to the good times. A great way to start: Brandi Carlile's show at Lyric Opera House this Thursday. Her expertly-crafted country-tinged rock should brighten your day lickety-split. Check out her video for " Hard Way Home", then kick back and look forward to hearing her pristine voice and excellent songs in person this Thursday.

The Real Deal
Speaking of females with great voices and awesome songs, it's hard to top Melissa Etheridge in that realm. She's been serving up her righteous rock and roll with the best of them for years. When she plays The Music Center at Strathmore this Friday, her signature brand of unapologetic rock will never sound better.

Just What the Doctor Ordered
With some fuzzed-out tones, harmonies, and a classic rock and pop vibe, Dr. Dog make some pretty killer tunes. Their first night at 9:30 Club has already sold out, but, lucky for you, we've added a second night. That's one more chance to join in on their grand psychedelic journey.

The Caribbean @ U Street Music Hall
"There's no denying that this is progressive pop music made for the thinking fan and therefore may be difficult for the masses to grasp, but you often have to work for the good stuff." - HARP
D.C.-based band The Caribbean are musical architects. Their songs are pieced together with all sorts of sounds that you wouldn't think would go together, but somehow do. The result is a delightful take on avant garde pop, and some of the more unique music out there. Take a long listen to " Thank You for Talking to Me About Israel", and see them build their songs at U Street Music Hall this Friday.
