French sisters CocoRosie holed themselves up in a studio in Spring 2012 with TV on the Radio/Maximum Balloon ace Dave Sitek. In regards to the session, CocoRosie had this to say about working with Sitek: "Working with Dave is a creative exorcism - musical kinship without boundary." The resulting single from the session, " We Are On Fire", takes CocoRosie's already uber-experimental sound and image even further. If the video/song are any indication, when CocoRosie play 9:30 Club next Thursday, they'll take their D.C. fans through thrilling new worlds.

Donavon Frankenreiter @ U Street Music Hall
A quick glance at the above photo immediately lets you know that Donavon Frankenreiter is a laid back dude. In regards to his latest album, his official bio states: "With its smooth showcasing of Frankenreiter's rich, honey-thick vocals and masterful guitar work, Start Livin' bears all the intimacy of an impromptu back-porch performance and the tenderness of a treasured love letter." That kind of easy and breezy performance is exactly what to expect when he plays at U Street Music Hall this Saturday.
